BHS Co-op Spotlights: Taylor, Ordiway, Wells
MACKENZIE TAYLOR is a senior in the marketing program. She completed her co-op placement as a marketing intern at W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery.
During her time there, Mackenzie contributed to a variety of projects, including preparing new member packets for the Collectors Club, shipping products to customers and influencers, filing paperwork, working in the archives, and supporting a range of marketing initiatives. She chose the co-op experience to gain real-world exposure in the field. After graduation, Mackenzie plans to pursue further studies in sports management, with the goal of one day working for the NBA.
DANI ORDIWAY is a senior in the Marketing program. She chose this field to learn how to attract customers to a business and discover which promotional strategies are most effective. For her co-op placement, Dani gained experience at both Proper’s Florist and Greenhouse and The Lodge at Glendorn. At Proper’s, she took customer orders, created floral arrangements, and managed the business’s Facebook page. At The Lodge at Glendorn, she worked in the kitchen, preparing and baking morning pastries, making after-dinner chocolates, and assembling cheese plates for arriving guests. Dani’s favorite aspects of her co-op experience were learning new skills and gaining insight into how businesses operate. Her unique opportunity to work in two different industries allowed her to explore multiple career paths while applying what she learned in class. After graduation, Dani plans to attend St. Bonaventure University to major in Occupational Therapy.
LILY WELLS is a senior in our Health Occupations program with a strong interest in nursing. She enjoys hands-on work and values the opportunity to apply the skills learned in class to real-world situations. After earning her CNA certification in January, Lily began her co-op placement at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Her favorite aspect of the experience was forming meaningful connections with the residents she cared for. Following graduation, Lily plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to pursue a degree in Radiologic Technology.
