    DCC, Port Allegany claim baseball wins

    KANE — DCC baseball used four-run first and second innings to guarantee a 10-0 shutout Tuesday.

    Leading DCC at the plate was Carter Himes, who went 2-for-2.

    Blake Pisarcik earned the mound win, striking out 11 and walking one while tossing a no-hitter.

    On the mound for Kane was Phinn Chamberlain, who struck out two and walked none while giving up nine hits.

    BASEBALL PORT ALLEGANY 10, OTTO-ELDRED 4 ROULETTE — Unrattled by a field change due to poor conditions, Port Allegany claimed a 10-4 victory Tuesday.

    Leading the Gators at the plate was Tyler Fillhart, who went 1-for-4. Meanwhile, Kellen Veilleux, Aiden Bliss, Levi Howard, Tayton Roys and Chase Boyd each had two hits for Port Allegany.

    On the mound for Port was Liam Hawver, who struck out one and walked four while giving up two hits.

    On the mound for Otto-Eldred was Ryan Schenfield, who struck out none and walked four while surrendering nine hits.

    DUBOIS 8, BRADFORD 1 DuBois used a five-run fourth inning to outscore Bradford Tuesday.

    Leading DuBois at the plate were Mason Dinkfelt with a double and Wes Clyde, who went 1-for-3.

    Earning the mound win was Grady Galiczunski, who struck out five and walked four while giving up two hits.

    On the mound for Bradford was Maksim Demic, who struck out two and walked three while surrendering 10 hits.

    Leading Bradford was Tarran Reese, who went 2-for-4 and Evan Whitmore, who was 1-for-3.

    SOFTBALL JOHNSONBURG 23, KANE 8 KANE — Johnsonburg defeated Kane 23-8 in five innings Tuesday.

    On the mound for the Lady Rams was Dana Beimel, who struck out nine, walked two and gave up nine hits.

    For Kane, Abigail Mix went 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBIs, Sara Ely went 2-for-4 with an RBI, Cadence Carlson-Maybury had two RBIs and Lexi Mulcahy had a double.

    Kyleigh McGuire suffered the mound loss, striking out one, walking two and giving up nine hits.

    Kane returns to action Thursday for a doubleheader against DCC (3 p.m.) and Forest Area (4:30 p.m.).

    OTTO-ELDRED 8, PORT ALLEGANY 7 PORT ALLEGANY — Otto-Eldred took a 4-1 lead in the second and finalized the victory with four runs in the seventh to win Tuesday.

    Rayel Hakes earned the mound win, striking out 10 and walking two while giving up 11 hits.

    Leading the Lady Terrors was Jahden Smith, with three hits in three at-bats.

    Leading the Lady Gators were Brynn Evens, who went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Gianna Glasgow, who had three hits.

    On the mound for Port Allegany was Bria Wilcox, who struck out seven and walked 10 while giving up six hits.

    NORTHERN POTTER 14, COUDERSPORT 0 COUDERSPORT — Lillian Steele went 2-for-4 with a double to lead Northern Potter.

    On the mound for NoPo was Jaylyn Williammee, who struck out 12 and walked none while giving up two hits.

    Suffering the mound loss was Hannah Fleniken, who struck out three and walked 12 while surrendering five hits.

    BROCKWAY 15, BRADFORD 2 Elysabeth Myers knocked in two runs with a home run in the second inning to lead Brockway.

    Also pacing Brockway at the plate was Sophia Schmader, who had three hits.

    On the mound for Brockway was Bailee Carberry, who struck out three and walked one while giving up five hits.

    Suffering the mound loss was Daisy Greene, who struck out three and walked none while giving up 16 hits.

    TRACK & FIELD BOYS PORT ALLEGANY 94.5, CAMERON COUNTY 55.5 CAMERON COUNTY 84, OSWAYO VALLEY 58 Port Allegany’s Isac Amell (110 hurdles, high jump) and Ethan Tarbox (discus, shotput) each doubled as Port Allegany defeated Cameron County.

    Meanwhile, Cameron County boys claimed a win over Oswayo Valley Also, the Port Allegany and Cameron County boys throwers competed in a decades long unofficial relay to conclude tonight’s track meet. Each boys teams’ throwers run in a 1600 relay at the end of the meet called the Elephant Relay. The teams compete for school pride and for the right to possess the “Elephant Relay Baton” for another year as a trophy. Port Allegany’s boys’ throwers beat the Cameron County throwers in this year’s running of the relay. The winning relay was made up of Ethan Tarbox, Patrick McMahon, Adrian Penick and Josh Veilleux.
