BHS co-op spotlights: Stiles, Gracey-Dalton, Douthit
CYRUS STILES is a senior in the Carpentry program, where he has developed a strong foundation in construction and handson building skills. For his co-op placement, he worked with Dream Builders Plus, gaining valuable experience across a range of projects. His responsibilities included building concrete forms, pouring and finishing concrete, framing walls, installing siding and flooring, completing roofing work and assisting with various other carpentry tasks. Cyrus especially enjoyed learning new skills on the job, working alongside supportive co-workers, and earning money while still in school. After graduation, he plans to join Dream Builders Plus full-time and continue growing in the trade.
KARSYN GRACEY-DALTON is a senior in the Marketing program who spent her year gaining valuable experience with the Office of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement at the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford. In this role, she applied the marketing skills she learned in class to help promote campus events and support student engagement initiatives. Karsyn especially enjoyed the creative side of her work, designing flyers and producing videos to connect with the student body. She appreciated the opportunity to develop new, real-world skills that will serve her well in the future. After graduation, Karsyn plans to begin an exciting new chapter by joining the U.S.
Air Force.
MITCHELL DOUTHIT is a senior in the Marketing program.
In class, he enjoyed learning about the various techniques and strategies used to promote and develop products.
For his co-op placement, Mitchell worked at Journey Health Systems, where his responsibilities included transferring documents into employee files — both digitally and in filing cabinets — scheduling Facebook posts for affiliate organizations, assisting with administrative tasks and creating social media content. Mitchell appreciated his co-op experience because it provided valuable on-the-job training and helped him prepare for his future. His favorite part of working at Journey was the supportive and friendly people he worked with. After graduation, Mitchell plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford to major in business management.
