HeatWave, a Senior Level 2.1 team made up of eight athletes from the PA and NY area, finished its debut season with Storm Athletics All-Star Cheerleading undefeated, earning first place finishes and championship titles at each competition.

This accomplishment means the team has earned a prestigious bid for The Liberty Spirit Championships. The Grand Finale Nationals Elite 2025 cheerleading competition is scheduled to take place on May 10-11, 2025, in Miramar Beach, Fla. HeatWave will be representing our area at this championship.

Storm is a very popular Cheerleading Program for children 3–18-yearolds based at Olean Center Mall in Olean, NY. Storm Athletics has athletes participating that live in Olean, Bradford, Smethport, Hornell and everywhere in between.

The program has been running for 15 years and at this time, it has served over 400 different youths who had used Storm’s training facilities, been part of their teams, and learned to tumble while building a strong community bond. Storm Athletics is a nonprofit organization (501c3) and our families fundraise to help cut the cost of an expensive but amazing sport.

Over the years, Storm has had several teams earn the right to cheer in huge national championship events in Virginia, Ocean City, NOLA, Universal Studios and even Disney World.

“We win as a team. We lose as a team. We go as a team.” – HeatWave As a team, they will be making appearances in the Olean and Bradford Communities over the next few weeks, including but not limited to a Pulled Pork BBQ with HopToads Real BBQ on May 3-4.
