MOUNT JEWETT — Kinzua Bridge State Park will offer a variety of programs this March.
At 10 a.m. Sunday is Beaver Basics, where participants will learn about Pennsylvania’s largest rodent. Meet in the Visitor Center lobby. Stop by the display to discover a beaver pelt, skull and more.
At 10 a.m. March 9, a walk around the main parking area will look at native plants. Meet in front of the Visitor Center.
At 7 p.m. March 14, bring a flashlight with a red lens and walk along the General Kane Trail for a Full Moon Night Hike. Program is weather-dependent, so check the weather or call the park office. Meet in the overflow parking area.
Have you ever wondered what plants stay green through winter? Find out at noon March 16 on the Green Walk, as the park has several interesting “greenies” to find along the General Kane Trail. Meet in the overflow parking lot.
At 11 a.m. March 22 will be Nature Story and Stamp, when participants will listen to a short nature story and then make a stamp. Meet in the classroom next to the Visitor Center exhibits.
A Healthy Hike is set for noon March 23, when participants can carry on their resolutions with a walk in the park on the General Kane Trail, an easy to moderate approximately 1-mile hike through the woods. Meet at the trailhead in the overflow lot.
Dress for the weather if the program is held outside. For more information, contact the park office at (814) 778-5467 or email kinzuabridgesp@pa.gov.
