A Valentine Tea was celebrated on Valentine’s Day at First Presbyterian Church, hosted by the Women’s Literary Club with guests from the Current Events Club. Other special guests included Anne Bouquin and Becca Henke along with her 4-year-old daughter, Senna, who delighted everyone with her beautiful smile.
President Carol Shannon welcomed members and guests and then introduced vocalist Lynn Kuntz by sharing a very special biography written by her 6-year-old grandson, Tyson, who described his grandmother as “past college age, having a driver’s license, a singer at Open Arms Church, a hiker, and a reader of a lot of books.”
Lynn entertained everyone by singing a variety of valentine and love songs such as “Love Will Keep Us Together,” oldies like “Come Rain or Come Shine,” and even a couple of Patsy Cline favorites. She serenaded us for more than half an hour with her beautiful voice.
Tables were decorated with lit Valentine trees and the tea tables were filled with tea sandwiches, salads and taste-tempting confections all made by the Literary Club Board. Door prizes were won by Elsie Benson and Gae Colligan.
Shannon thanked everyone for attending and reminded members that the next meeting will be held at noon Friday, which is our Election Day luncheon, at Togi’s Restaurant. The speaker will be Brett Butler on fire safety.
