Leadership McKean’s (LM) 8-month CORE program’s healthcare session was held at The Guidance Center’s Community Training Center.
The healthcare session seeks to educate the class of 2025 on healthcare resources in the area, as well as highlight the benefits of making smart lifestyle choices while fostering personal and community responsibility for optimal health. Participants also discussed current healthcare challenges facing the community.
Four guest speakers contributed to the session. Jason Nuzzo, coordinator of the Cardiac Rehab Upbeat Program at Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC), presented on wellness throughout the lifecycle. David Monroe, chief administrative officer at BRMC, provided an overview of rural healthcare. Linda Howard, director of compliance at Bradford Ecumenical Home, and Lisa Johnson, CEO of Bradford Ecumenical Home, discussed topics including HIPAA compliance, quality and infection control, and dementia awareness.
The session concluded with project teams working together to brainstorm and focus their project ideas that support McKean County communities.
“The collaboration among our project teams demonstrated the diverse perspectives involved in driving innovation. This experience reinforced Leadership McKean’s commitment to working collectively towards a healthier future for all of McKean County,” said Julie Marasco, LM board member.
