Bradford held Port Allegany to three points apiece in the final three quarters on its way to a 36-17 non-league victory over the Lady Gators.
Port Allegany actually led after the first quarter, 8-7, but Bradford outscored Port 8-3 in the second to take a 15-11 halftime lead and 10-3 in the third quarter to go up by double digits.
Haley Keane led the way for Bradford, scoring 17 points, 11 of which came in the first half. Mackenzie Taylor also had 18 points for Bradford and Shavia Long six.
Ella Moses had six points, 10 rebounds and three assists to lead Port Allegany, while Mady Errick added five points.
The Lady Gators turned the ball over 32 times in the loss.
BOYS
BRADFORD 55, PORT ALLEGANY 44
PORT ALLEGANY — A 19-9 run in the second quarter helped lift the Bradford Owls to a 55-44 win over Port Allegany.
Tyler Simmons scored seven of his 13 points in the surge for the Owls to help them take a 31-20 halftime lead. Simmons was one of three Bradford players in double figures, as Evan Troisi led the way with 14 points and Daniel Marasco 12.
Port Allegany closed to within 38-30 after the third quarter, but Marasco scored six points over the final eight minutes to help the Owls (4-2) seal the deal.
Isac Amell posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to go along with two assists for Port Allegany, while Jarrod Funk was also in double figures with 13 points and also had six rebounds and a pair of steals.
OTTO-ELDRED 61, CAMERON COUNTY 50
DUKE CENTER — In an important early season North Tier League contest, Landon Francis scored 18 points to help Otto-Eldred to a 61-50 win over Cameron County.
Francis was one of three Otto-Eldred players in double figures, with Shene Thomas scoring 14 points and Manning Splain 11.
The Terrors built a 29-21 halftime lead en route to the win and hit eight 3-pointers in the contest. Hunter App chipped in with nine points.
Landon Farren led Cameron County with 12 points, while Malakai Zucal added nine.
OSWAYO VALLEY 62, SMETHPORT 49
SMETHPORT — Dawson Welch connected for 25 points as Oswayo Valley earned a 62-49 North Tier League win over Pitt-Bradford.
Landon Flurschutz was also in double figures for the Green Wave with 10 points, while Conner Resig and Hunter Worthington added eight each.
Jack Sherry connected for 19 points to pace Smethport.
GALETON 44, AUSTIN 41
AUSTIN — Gavin Shutt scored 18 points as Galeton rallied for a 44-41 win over Austin.
Galeton trailed 33-32 going to the fourth and outscored the Panthers 12-8 over the final eight minutes.
Brayden Stuckey led Austin with 18 points, while Brennan Ogden added 13.
