MOUNT JEWETT — Kinzua Bridge State Park will host its First Day Hike at 10 a.m. Jan. 1 along the General Kane Hiking Trail.
Led by the park naturalist, the hike is an approximately 1.5-mile easy to moderate walk in the woods. During the hike, look for signs of wildlife and the plants they need in this area. Receive a free First Day Hike sticker for participating.
Wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Meet in the overflow parking area near the General Kane Trailhead.
This trail is in the “open to hunting” area, so participants are asked to wear orange hats and vests. Dogs are welcome. They must be on a leash and under control at all times. Bring a doggie bag to clean up after your pet.
The Kinzua Bridge will be closed due to a longevity project. The visitor center will be closed due to the holiday.
