Consider it a holiday gift from Sheetz.
Today, the convenience store chain announced it’s lowering prices on Unleaded 88 by 40 cents per gallon. The promotion is available through Nov. 30 at 505 Sheetz stores where the fuel is offered.
Unleaded 88 is a blend of 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline. It is approved for use in “flexible-fuel vehicles” designed to run on gasoline or gasoline-ethanol blends of up to 85% ethanol.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved Unleaded 88 for use in all 2001 and newer cars, trucks and SUVs, Sheetz said. The fuel burns cleaner and reduces toxins making it more environmentally friendly, according to the convenience store chain.
Thanksgiving is the busiest travel holiday of the year with about 72% of Americans saying they plan to take a road trip, according to GasBuddy.
The fuel savings platform said gas prices are at a multi-year low and projected nationally to hover around an average $2.98 per gallon, down from the current $3.02 per gallon average.
