AUSTIN — Austin beat Coudersport for the first time since 2005 Thursday night. They won in five sets (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 15-25, 15-13).
“I’m so proud of these girls for overcoming a flat fourth set and coming out strong in the fifth, Austin head coach Pam Terrette said. “They really pulled it together and fought until the end.”
For Austin, Isabella Rees led the Panthers with 17 kills, 7 blocks, and 4 aces. Marissa Stuckey had 7 kills and 4 aces, Katie Rees had 7 kills, and setter Anna Brewer got 35 assists, 4 kills, and 4 aces.
Austin will finish their season with a road matchup against Port Allegany on Monday at 7 p.m. Coudersport has an away game at 15-2 Otto-Eldred next also on Monday at 7 p.m.
CAMERON COUNTY 3, NORTHERN POTTER 0
EMPORIUM — Cameron County defeated Northern Potter in straight sets (25-9, 25-16, 25-15).
Ava Hilfiger led the Red Raiders with 10 kills while Elsie Bresslin had 5 kills. Setter Hailey McAulay contributed 15 assists.
Cameron County will finish their season at Oswayo Valley on Monday at 7 p.m. Northern Potter will finish at home against Galeton on Monday at 7:15.
