MOVIES: What would make your list of must-see movies? The editors with Internet Movie Database — https://www.imdb.com/ — created a Top 100 Movies Bucket List. Not everyone will agree, certainly, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
In 10th place was The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, a 1966 Sergio Leone film starring Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach.
In ninth place is The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring, the 2001 Peter Jackson film with Elijah Wood and Ian McKellan.
Eighth place is Pulp Fiction, the 1994 Quentin Tarantino film with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Number seven is The Lord of the Rings: The Return of The King, the 2003 Peter Jackson film starring Wood, McKellan and Viggo Mortensen.
At number six is perhaps one of the most important films, which arguably should be higher — Schindler’s List. The 1993 Steven Spielberg film about the Holocaust starred Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley.
At number five was 12 Angry Men, the 1957 Sidney Lumet film starring Henry Fonda. Number four was The Godfather Part II, from 1974, the Francis Ford Coppola sequel with Al Pacino and Robert Duvall. Skipping ahead, The Godfather from 1972 was in second place.
In third place was The Dark Knight, the 2008 Christopher Nolan Batman film with Christian Bale and Heath Ledger.
In first place was the 1994 film The Shawshank Redemption, based on a Stephen King book, directed by Frank Darabont and starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.
A glance through the list shows some older favorites higher up, like It’s a Wonderful Life in 21st place, Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope at 29; Casablanca at 47; Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times at 50; and Singin’ in the Rain at 88.
