SMETHPORT — At Tuesday’s meeting, the McKean County commissioners approved funds for several municipalities and renewed contracts for the Department of Human Services.
What they didn’t do, for lack of a motion, was appoint Jeremy Morey to the McKean County Redevelopment Authority. Morey is the borough manager for Port Allegany and former director of the McKean County Planning Commission.
However, he is a resident of Roulette in Potter County, when he would need to be a resident of McKean County to serve on the board.
Also at the meeting, American Rescue Plan Act funds were approved for Hazel Hurst Water Company for $7,200, and to Cousins Design for $4,000 for a Route 6 Signage project. ARPA funds for a community development/parks and recreation project in Wetmore Township for $20,000 were also approved.
Applications for county liquid fuels aid were approved from the following: Eldred Borough, $1,358.71; Otto Township, $3,626.53; Bradford City, $13,519.26; Lafayette Township, $4,177.55; and Hamlin Township, $2,344.39.
The commissioners authorized filing a proposal for $392,429.33 in funds with the Department of Community and Economic Development for McKean County Emergency Solutions Grant through A Partnership in Housing Inc. Several other measures relating to the grant were approved as well.
Multiple renewals were approved for the Department of Human Services as well — Early Intervention, E.
