UNIVERSITY PARK — For those interested in learning about greenhouse fundamentals and hydroponic vegetable production, Penn State Extension will offer a webinar, “Living on a Few Acres: Greenhouse and Hydroponic Production,” from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8.
This event is perfect for anyone who is interested in learning the basics of greenhouse management and hydroponic production, organizers said. Participants can explore the pros and cons of using greenhouses and high tunnels for crop production, learn about various structures and site orientation, and discover growing methods in soil or soilless substrates. Attendees also can learn more about the systems needed for irrigation, heating, cooling and ventilation.
Participants must register by 11:59 p.m. Aug. 7 to receive the link to access the live webinar. Space for this webinar is limited, and a $5 registration fee accompanies the event. Registrants also will receive access to the webinar recording.
