The Era’s Marcie Schellhammer has been recognized with an honorable mention in the investigative journalism category of the Keystone Press Awards.
Her story, “For the Love of God,” was a look at the separation of the Global Methodist Church from the United Methodist Church.
Awards will be presented during a luncheon Oct. 17 at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.
A graduate of Otto-Eldred High School and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Schellhammer has been with The Era since 2001.
She has been honored for her professional achievements 16 times, four as a finalist in the Quill competition, and through the Pennsylvania News Media Association, 12 times — three for columns and nine for reporting.
She and her daughter, Emily, live in Bradford.
