How much do single-game Penn State football tickets cost? See 2024 prices, plus parking

Are you ready for Penn State football? Now might be the time to secure your tickets for the 2024 season.

Single-game tickets and parking passes for the Nittany Lions’ upcoming season are now on sale. The action doesn’t begin at Beaver Stadium until Penn State hosts Bowling Green State University Sept. 7, but you might need to act fast to get the best deals for this season’s seven home games.

If you’re thinking about heading to Happy Valley to catch the Nittany Lions in person this fall, here’s what you need to know.

How much do single-game football tickets cost?

Penn State sells its tickets directly through Ticketmaster, which is known for using a dynamic pricing model that raises prices based on seat location and overall demand for each game. You can usually expect to pay more for home games against big-name opponents like Ohio State University and the University of Washington than non-conference matchups against Kent State University, for example.

Ticket prices purchased through Penn State’s Ticketmaster pages or other resale markets will likely fluctuate until each game kicks off. As of Thursday morning, prices for games against Bowling Green and Kent State start at around $55 and $60, while more anticipated contests against Ohio State and Washington are already seeing prices starting near $280 and $165 per ticket, respectively, through the Ticketmaster system.

Prices for parking vouchers may also vary. Single-game passes for Penn State’s matchups against Kent State and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, for example, start at $60 as of Thursday morning. However, starting prices for parking passes rise to $80 for the Nittany Lions’ games against the University of California, Los Angeles and Washington, among others.

How can I buy Penn State football tickets and parking passes?

Ticketmaster is the only option to purchase Penn State football tickets directly from the source.

You can browse single-game tickets at ticketmaster.com/beaver-stadium-tickets-university-park/venue/16740. Parking passes are sold separately at ticketmaster.com/pennstate/24fbsingleparking.

When do student tickets go on sale?

Unlike in past years, Penn State’s 2024 student ticket sales might not be so much of a mad dash.

The university’s athletics department announced in April it would implement a new lottery system that provides equal chance to all students who want to secure season tickets for the Nittany Lions’ seven home games this season. Each class of students — starting with graduate students and ending with freshmen — will have one week to request tickets through the online Penn State Student Account Manager.

Here’s the schedule for the online ticket request windows, which begin at 8 a.m. the first day and end at 5 p.m. the final day:

    — Graduate students — June 10 to 17

    — Seniors — June 11 to 18

    — Juniors — June 12 to 19

    — Sophomores — June 13 to 20

    — Freshmen — June 14 to 21

The lottery’s selection process is random and not affected by when students submit their requests. Students should be notified of their results via email during the week of June 24.

To request tickets, students will need to enter credit card information, but they will be charged the $246 cost for tickets only if they are selected.

What’s new at Beaver Stadium in 2024?

Those who have not visited Penn State’s stadium in a few years may have their eyes drawn toward the newly constructed Legacy Plaza along Curtin Road. Featured there are plaques outlining the Nittany Lions’ history alongside fan-purchased bricks with personalized inscriptions that raised money for the athletics department. Brick packages start at $350 for the plaza, which is estimated to be about 70% full.

Most other Beaver Stadium discourse centers on the recently approved $700 million renovation project. Although the final design of Beaver Stadium’s next iteration is not complete, upgrades are expected to add a welcome center, expand the concourse, install more elevators, escalators and stairs, provide new restrooms, improve field lighting and more.

Some of these changes will require the demolition and rebuilding of the west side of the stadium, which will begin in its first phase in 2025 following the 2024 football season. The third and final phase of renovations is scheduled to finish in August 2027 before that year’s season begins.

Penn State has already started a “winterization” process for the stadium that includes insulating pipes and other upgrades. This process would allow the stadium to comfortably host events and games when temperatures drop below freezing, which could be especially useful if the Nittany Lions host a College Football Playoff game in the new, expanded format.

    Penn State’s 2024 football schedule

You can expect more details on special game themes, broadcast destinations and kick times in the coming weeks as the season gets closer. For now, here’s a look at the Nittany Lions’ upcoming schedule with home games displayed in bold text:

    — West Virginia — Aug. 31 at noon on FOX

    — Bowling Green — Sept. 7 at noon on Big Ten Network

    — Kent State — Sept. 21

    — Illinois — Sept. 28 (Homecoming) at 3:30, 4 or 7:30 p.m.

    — UCLA — Oct. 5

    — USC — Oct. 12

    — Wisconsin — Oct. 26

    — Ohio State — Nov. 2

    — Washington — Nov. 9

    — Purdue — Nov. 16

    — Minnesota — Nov. 23

    — Maryland — Nov. 30

The 2024 season marks the additions of Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington to the Big Ten. The conference’s football schedule now features 18 teams with no divisional format.
