ST. MARYS — Bradford split a doubleheader at St. Marys on Monday, winning the first game, 5-2 and dropping a 2-1 decision in the second game.
In Game 1, it was the Talan Reese show for the Owls. Reese was dominant on the mound, firing a complete game four-hitter. Both of his runs allowed were unearned and he struck out 11 without issuing a walk.
Reese was also 1-for-3 with two RBIs at the plate. Also for Bradford, Anthony Lama was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Evan Whitmore was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Adam Ward was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Jackson Vollmer was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for St. Marys.
There was a lot of pitching going on in game two as well. Lucas Bauer struck out 10 in four 2/3 innings of work to get the win for the Dutchmen, while Mason Nicklas tossed two 1/3 – hitless innings of relief to get the save, striking out five and walking two.
Vollmer drove in both runs for St. Marys and finished 2-for-3.
Brody Haviland went six 2/3 innings for Bradford, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking four.
Ward had an RBI single to account for the Owls’ lone run in the fifth inning, while Reese had the other hit.

SMETHPORT — Trailing 4-0, Smethport scored five runs in the fourth inning and three more in the sixth to rally for an 8-4 win over Cameron County.
Bennett Harris helped power the Smethport offense, hitting a solo home run in the fourth innings and finishing 3-for-4, including a double and three RBIs. Zach Hungiville was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Hubbers, while Brentton McDowell was 1-for-2 with an RBI, two walks and a run scored and Colin Riekofsky was 2-for-4 with two runs.
Cole Szuba got the win, allowing four runs (two earned) in five innings on six hits, striking out three and walking three. McDowell tossed two perfect innings of relief with two strikeouts.
For Cameron County, Jake Narby, Jesop Farabaugh (two hits), Maddox Baughman and Anthony Mastriania had one RBI each, while Ryan Shaffer was 1-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

KERSEY — Trailing 5-2, Kane scored two runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to rally for a 6-5 win over Elk County Catholic.
Trailing 5-4 in the sixth, Phinn Chamberlain’s single brought in Isaya Miller and Eric Novosel to give the Wolves the lead for good.
Isiah Miller was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Wolves, while Miller was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and Chamberlain 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
Brock Wensel went six innings to get the win, allowing five runs (four earned) on 11 hits, striking out five and walking two.
Lance O’Neil was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for ECC, while Frankie Smith was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI

Hope Peterson had a huge day at the plate for the Lady Hubbers, going 3-for-3 with a home run and six RBIs, while Janell Dinch was 2-for-3.
Ty Colley got the win, going five innings and allowing four hits, striking out eight and walking eight.
Elyse Umble was 2-for-4 for Cameron County.

Bailey Thorwart was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and three runs for Elk County Catholic, which scored 11 runs in the first inning and collected 22 hits.
