The Master of Social Work program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will hold an in-person information session Thursday with Henry Cantu, director of admissions and recruitment for the Pitt School of Social Work.
Participants will be able to ask Cantu and Stephanie Eckstrom, Pitt-Bradford MSW regional director, about graduate social work opportunities on the Bradford campus. Topics will include the admissions process, program structure and benefits, curriculum, financial aid, tuition discounts for helping professionals and more. Participants will also have a chance to win a drawing for $250 toward books.
The event will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Room 162 of Swarts Hall at Pitt-Bradford. Light refreshments will be served.
The Pitt-Bradford MSW program is the only in-person graduate social work opportunity in the Twin Tiers, representatives said. The program’s next cohort will begin in fall 2024, meaning that students attend classes together in a group at Pitt-Bradford, completing six credits each semester for 10 consecutive semesters. Students may successfully complete the MSW in 3½ years.
Geared toward working professionals, all classes are held in the evenings on the Pitt-Bradford campus. The Pitt-Bradford MSW program shares the same academic goals, standards and requirements as the program at the Pittsburgh campus.
The Pitt School of Social Work is ranked 12th by U.S. News and World Report among 319 accredited graduate schools of social work.
The MSW program at Pitt-Bradford offers a specialization in direct practice with individuals, families and small groups, and the opportunity for a certificate in children, youth and families.
