In The Bradford Era on March 22, in an article “Bipartisanship on Infrastructure,” it mentions that in Scranton (President Joe Biden’s hometown) work has begun on the replacement of the Green Ridge Street Bridge.
Here in Bradford for many years, traffic on Bolivar Drive at Foster Brook has been held up by railroad traffic.
With the current emphasis on infrastructure by both Republicans and Democrats, is it not time for someone, or some group, to research, plan, make contacts, survey, blueprint, etc., for an overpass, bridge, or whatever to carry vehicle traffic over the railroad on Bolivar Drive.
It could be of interest to commissioners, state representatives and senators, railroads and ARG refinery reps, etc.
Who would benefit? Local citizens, truckers, the railroad, the refinery, local businesses, the school district wikth its bus fleet, first responders, ATA and more.
If it would not be feasible on Bolivar Drive, then somewhere not too far distant would be acceptable. Wherever possible.
Several local communities have had, over-railroad passes for many years. Why not Bradford? Please, someone act now.
