UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State Extension invites sheep and goat producers, as well as other agricultural professionals, to join the “Meningeal Worm Risk and Reduction” webinar set 7 to 8 p.m. April 2.
This webinar will take a closer look at the meningeal worm’s life cycle, symptoms of infection, diseases with similar symptoms and exposure reduction techniques for small ruminant health.
Rachel White, assistant professor of sustainable agriculture and livestock at the University of Maine, will present. Her background includes researching the risk of parasite transmission from wildlife to small ruminants and risk reduction methods. Her social science work looks at farmer and veterinarian knowledge, attitude and practice for small ruminant health management and the challenges they encounter with parasites.
Penn State Extension offers this webinar free of charge, but registration is requested by April 2. Participants will receive the webinar link in their confirmation email and call-in information is available to anyone without access to a computer and internet.
