SMETHPORT — The Smethport Area Women’s Club held their regular monthly meeting Feb. 21, at the American Legion Hall in Smethport with 16 members present. Guest speaker, Pam Nelson, recently wrote and had published a devotional for widows, was also in attendance.
President Barb Peterson called the business meeting to order, minutes from the Jan. 17 meeting were approved, and treasurer Phyllis Faes reported the treasury balance. One item of correspondence concerned the Hamlin Memorial Library Spring Dinner Auction which will take place March 23.
The club members will participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt, for all kids 10 years old and under, on March 30 and donate $100.
Joan Schultz is assembling the basket to donate for the annual 2024 Hamlin Memorial Library Auction to be held on Saturday, March 23, which will be filled with items that a woman would like.
The Pink Elephant is still in need of volunteers for general help at the store. Contact Phyllis Faes if you are able to help.
The speaker for this meeting was Pam Nelson. She recently had a devotional booklet for widows published. Pam has been on several mission trips all over the world.
The monthly drawing was won by Jackie Cooney. Cooney was hand picked by her granddaughter!
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on March 20 at the Legion Hall in Smethport, with spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.
