PITTSBURGH — A Bradford man is facing charges in Allegheny County for the alleged sexual assault of a child.
Eric Collins, 50, of Cornen Street, is charged with seven felonies relating to the alleged assault, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor.
According to the criminal complaint, in November, Allegany County Police were called to assist West View Police investigate a complaint made by a now teenage male that Collins assaulted him when he was 6.
A forensic interview was conducted at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, and the child described that the sexual contact happened on two occasions, the complaint stated. Collins had told him, “This is what doctors do to see if you are healthy” before the assaults, the complaint alleged.
Charges against Collins were held to court by District Judge Richard Opiela. He is free on non-monetary bail.
He is scheduled for formal arraignment and appearance in Sex Offense Court on March 21 in Allegheny County.
