Against Jamestown, Barracudas set two new records

PANAMA, NY — In their final away dual meet of the season, the YMCA Bradford Barracudas traveled to face the Jamestown Jets this past Saturday.

Kael Riekofsky started off the meet by setting a new team and league record in the boys 11-12 500 free. Riekofsky swam the distance in a time of 5:49.18 which broke the team record set by Landon Johnson in 2022 and the league record set by Parker Smith of the Franklin YMCA in 2023. Another team record was set by Johnson in the boys 13-14 200 IM with a time of 2:12.48, which bested the previous record of 2:13.95 set by Tyler Sortore in 2016.

“This is a unique time of the year as we are coming off the hardest training part of the season over the holidays,” said coach Patrick Hollenbeck. “Our swimmers are swimming tired, but are still putting in a great effort.”
