Paige Gratto was fouled and knocked down a pair of free throws with three seconds left to break a 50-50 tie and lift Pitt-Bradford to a 52-50 AMCC win over Hilbert.
Gratto was fouled by Mackenzie Catan and calmly knocked down both shots.
The Panthers’ (9-11 overall) McKenna Kelly then forced a steal, ensuring that Hilbert wouldn’t have one last chance to win the game or send it to overtime.
The win for Pitt-Bradford was a measure of revenge after dropping a 64-46 decision on Dec. 6.
The Panthers trailed 47-40 with 2:54 to play, closing the game on an 12-3 run, which started with a pair of Kelly free throws.
Back-to-back layups by Kelly and Gratto got the Panthers within two, 48-46 and tied the game on a Kelly layup with 1:23 to play.
Kelly sank a 1 of 2 from the charity stripe to give UPB a 49-48 lead with 35 seconds to go, but Hilbert’s Kelsey Schlagenhauf was fouled just two seconds later and made both.
Gratto was fouled with five seconds to go, making the first and missing the second, but she collected her own miss and got fouled again, setting up the game-winners.
Hilbert led 40-34 after the third quarter.
Gratto finished with a game-high 18 points for the Panthers on 5 of 12 shooting and 8 of 11 from the free throw line.
Kelly, meanwhile, came off the bench to score 14 points, while Alexa Ackerman finished with 11.
Gratto also had seven rebounds, while Ackerman collected three steals.
UPB held Hilbert to just 29% shooting.
Aleisa Hamm led Hilbert with 24 points.
Pitt-Bradford returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Erie to take on Penn State-Behrend in a 2 p.m. contest.
