A Bradford woman waived a preliminary hearing on an escape charge in McKean County Central Court on Thursday.
Doreather Skaggs, 52, is facing one count of escape, a third-degree felony.
According to the criminal complaint, in September 2022, Skaggs did not return to McKean County Jail from her drug and alcohol treatment at Cove Forge behavioral health system as required as part of her sentence for a prior offense.
Skaggs remains jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail. She is represented by attorney Dawn Fink.
A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly failing to register his address with state police as required under Megan’s Law.
Matthew T. Pritt, 38, whose registered address was an apartment over the Option House on Main Street, is facing one second-degree felony count of failing to register with state police.
According to the criminal complaint, on Dec. 27, a police officer responded to a call at 43 Forman St. for a report of Pritt, a sexually violent predator under Megan’s Law, living there without notifying state police.
Pritt told police he had been staying at the Forman Street address for a few days, but when asked about his other address, admitted he had no furniture or bed there, the complaint stated.
On Jan. 8, police went to the Forman Street apartment again and spoke to Pritt, who again said he hadn’t updated his address, but admitted he knew he had only three days to do so, the complaint stated.
He was arraigned Jan. 11 before on-call District Judge David Engman and remanded to jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Jan. 24 before District Judge Rich Luther.
