UNIVERSITY PARK — Interested in raising game birds or managing the operation of a hunting preserve? Penn State Extension will host the Pennsylvania Game Breeders and Hunting Preserves Conference from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 19 and 8:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 20 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College.
This event is designed for gamebird breeders and propagators, hunting preserve owners and operators and sportsmen and sportswomen. The conference will include educational presentations, updates from industry agencies and associations and networking opportunities.
Sessions will cover updates on the industry and partner organizations, updates on highly pathogenic avian influenza, biosecurity planning and auditing, food safety and proper handling in field dressing, highly pathogenic avian influenza surveillance in bird hunting dogs and hunting preserves management.
The registration fee is $150 to attend both days, $125 for Feb. 19 only, or $50 for Feb. 20 only. Space is limited and preregistration is recommended.
