The Current Events Club met Monday at First Presbyterian Church. President Barbara Clark wished members and guests a Happy New Year. Members were thanked for their overwhelming generosity donating socks for Destinations.

This month’s speaker was Jen Lindquist of Drift Floatation Center on Route 6 in Kane. She explained floatation and its effects on chronic pain from many illnesses. A discussion followed.

Refreshments were served by Lettie Torrey and her committee of Pat Pascarella and Doris Young. Pattiy Lindstrom and Joyce Ostrander poured coffee and tea. The next meeting will be held Feb. 5 at First Presbyterian Church. A board meeting will be held at 12:30 p.m.
