SMETHPORT — A Rixford man was sentenced to a term in state prison Thursday in McKean County Court on charges of rape and false imprisonment.
Justin Nichols, 34, was sentenced to 4 to 9 years in state prison, plus three years consecutive supervision. He will be required to register as a sex offender, explained District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.
According to the criminal complaint, at 10:37 a.m. Nov. 13, 2022, state police responded to a Rixford residence for an inactive domestic incident.
The victim told police that between 4 and 10 a.m. that day, she was held against her will by Nichols. The victim said Nichols forced her to undress and sexually assaulted her.
When police interviewed Nichols, he admitted to “roughing up” the victim and sexually assaulting her, the complaint stated.
Also in court, Patrick Holcomb, 34, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault, corruption of minors, and obscene materials. A sex offender assessment was ordered, which will put sentencing about 90 days away.
According to the criminal complaint, between Oct. 23, 2020, and Oct. 22, 2022, Holcomb had sexual contact with a female between the ages of 7 and 9, made her watch explicit movies with him, and made the victim “help him” by touching him inappropriately.
Gene Meacham, 34, of Bradford, entered a guilty plea to failing to register as required under Megan’s Law.
Amanda Zampogna, 36, of Kane, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, a second-degree felony due to the age of the victim, who was less than a year old.
