At the Nov. 28 meeting, Bradford City Council passed the first reading of a wage ordinance for 2024. The final reading will be at the Dec. 26 meeting.
There will be changes made before the ordinance is acted on a second time.
The wage for city administrator, passed with Chris Lucco in mind, was listed at $102,288.53. However, Lucco is leaving, and that position will be filled on an interim basis by Eric Taylor, fire chief. The wage for the fire chief was $81,421.23.
Taylor will be holding both positions on an interim basis, and will receive a stipend for the city administrator position that has yet to be determined. It should be announced at the Dec. 26 meeting.
Others in administration will be earning from $43,764.78 to $37,198. City treasurer Karen Hector will earn $63,186.48, while two tellers/clerks will earn $31,198 each.
Nineteen full-time firemen will earn between $71,217.65 to $62,152.65.
In the police department, Chief Mike Ward will earn $79,977.18, while 16 full-time officers will be paid from $76,215.23 to $46,611.30 for a new hire/cadet.
Chip Comilla, as director of parks and public works, will earn a salary of $32,296.56 from the refuse division, $24,222.42 from streets and $24,222.42 from parks for a total of $80,741.40. In the refuse department, eight full-time employees make from $24.96 an hour to $18.80 an hour.
In the streets division, 10 full-time employees will earn from $25.21 an hour to $19.21 an hour.
City electrician Dan Tyger will earn $51,460.32.
In the parks department, three full-time employees will make from $25.02 an hour to $23 an hour.
In property maintenance, three full-time employees will earn from $43,641.43 to $42,000.
In the Office of Economic and Community Development, seven full-time employees would earn from $65,000 to $37,080.
Not all positions are filled.
The wages for the elected positions of city council and the city controller remain at $5,000 each, while the mayor earns $10,000 annually.
