Did you know that today is Santa’s List Day? This is the day when Jolly Ole St. Nick starts checking his Naughty or Nice list. Which one do you think you are on? Need to do something to get back in his good graces? Consider a good deed or two.

Nationaltoday.com gives a couple activities almost anyone can do: Run an errand for your neighbor or pay someone a compliment — either one will show Santa that you should be on his Nice list this year.

It’s also National Cookie Day. This could be another way to get on Santa’s Nice list since we all know how much he loves cookies on the big night. Fun fact, more than half of the U.S. prefer home baked cookies over store-bought ones.

BellyFull.net provides the easiest Sugar Cookie recipe ever. You will need: 1 cup of unsalted butter at room temperature, 2/3 cup + 3 Tablespoons of granulated sugar (divided), and 2 cups + 1 Tablespoon of all-purpose flour. Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla and rainbow sprinkles.

Preheat oven to 325 F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix in medium bowl, butter and 2/3 cups sugar until combined (it will be gritty). Add in flour and blend well. If using vanilla, now is when to add it. Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in sugar to coat.

Place on baking sheets two inches apart. Use bottom of a glass to flatten each ball. If using sprinkles, now is the time.

Bake 14-16 minutes, or until edges are slightly golden. Remove from oven and let rest for 10-15 minutes.
