This is a thank you to Rob Wilmoth for his positive action in responding to the vandalism of Hanley Park, reported in the Nov. 15 edition of The Bradford Era.
Many citizens of the area don’t realize that the little ones who go to Hanley Park don’t have an alternative green space to play in. I was lucky as a kid to live in the township and had lots of open spaces of field and tree-filled areas.
Hanley Park has had its share of vandalism over the years. The park itself should only be a place for the kids who live in the area to play and have fun, not a place to be afraid of or feel threatened.
As a former business person, I realize that taking an eight-hour day of labor, for the sake of the smaller citizens of Bradford city, is a wonderful act of kindness. It was a nice change of pace to read about.
Congratulations to Rob and his co-worker Eric Mackey for a job well done.
