The Bradford Barracudas swam to a 486-433 victory over the Warren Dolphins over the weekend as 10 Barracudas established six new team records in the process.
Landon Johnson set a new team record in the 13-14 boys 50 free with a time of 23.55. His time broke a 45-year-old team record; which was set by Scott Pringle in 1978 with a time of 23.90. Bella Rhoades also wrote her name into the record books by hitting the wall in a time of 19:46.82 in the 15-18 girls 1650 free, breaking the previous team record of 21:47.79 set by Paige Pecorella in 2022. Olivia Rhoades set a new record in the 11-12 girls 200 breaststroke, Kael Riekofsky swam the 11-12 boys 200 backstroke in record time, the 11-12 girls 400 free relay team of Olivia Rhoades, Ginger Mohr, Makayla Mitchell, Isla Nolan, and the 11-12 boys 400 free relay team of Kael Riekofsky, Micah Johnson, Elias Engstrom, and Liam Young also established new team records in their respective events.
“I am beyond impressed by how fast our swimmers are performing at this point in the season. We are working extremely hard in practice, and their efforts are being reflected with best times,” said head coach Patrick Hollenbeck. “It was great to have almost the whole roster of our 48 athletes there to compete against Warren as well. We needed a complete team effort to win against a strong Warren squad.”
