The Bradford Youth Basketball League rolled into Week 2 with all six teams seeing action on the court and only one making it out without suffering a loss. Results from the weekend are as follows:
Georgia Pacific Jayhawks 36, McCourt Label Bonnies 23
The Jayhawks picked up their first win of the season behind Eli Haynoski’s explosive offensive production.
Haynoski led the way with a game-best 24 points which included hitting six shots from long distance. Alongside him, three other Jayhawks made their way into the scoring column. Roman Aiello ended with seven points, Lucas Vecchio had four points and Vedder Silvis scored one point.
For the Bonnies, Paul Luzzi ended with double-digit figures, recording 11 points. Brock Crappio and Finley Neighbour both scored four points each, while Clay Trojanowski and Tommy Winship each had two points in the loss.
Luciano Builders Red Raiders 43, Bradford V.F.W. Tar Heels 8
The Red Raiders continued their early-season dominance with another blowout win.
Two Red Raiders finished with double-digit points with Blake Luciano scoring 24 points and Lucas Himes following closely behind with 15 points. Nigel Bender Jack and Cale Goodreau both scored one each, tallying two points individually.
The Tar Heels had three players score, with Abram Kuhn and Tryston York each scoring three points and Michael Reid III scoring two points.
Pennhills Resources Panthers 46, Troisi CPA Wildcats 21
Kohen Pantuso’s 20-point game lifted the Panthers to their second win of the season while the Wildcats fell to 1-2 on the season.
Alongside Pantuso, Samuel Benson finished with 14 points, Gavin Zetwick had eight points and Carter Roberts and Brycen Green both scored two points.
For the Wildcats, Jameis Furlong and Daniel Meister ended with six points each. Ezra Bockmier had five points and Will Pantuso had four points.
Luciano Builders Red Raiders 39, Georgia Pacific Jayhawks 25
Facing off as the lone undefeated teams, the Red Raiders’ scoring duo of Blake Luciano and Lucas Himes pushed the Red Raiders past the Jayhawks, maintaining their unblemished record.
Luciano scored a game-high 19 points, including eight points in the fourth quarter, while Himes scored six in the final quarter to end with 18 points in the win. Nigel Bender Jack scored two points for the Red Raiders.
Eli Haynoski led the Jayhawks with 12 points. Lucas Vecchio had six points and Roman Aiello scored four points.
Pennhills Resources Panthers 26, McCourt Label Bonnies 25
The final matchup of the day produced a down-to-the-wire battle that saw the Panthers pull out a one-point victory.
Gavin Zetwick led the Panthers in scoring with 11 points, followed by Samuel Benson’s seven. Kohen Pantuso scored four points while Cameron Butler and Orion Fink both scored two points.
For the Bonnies, Brock Crappio put the team on his shoulders, carrying the offensive load with 16 points while Paul Huzzi ended with seven points. Finley Neighbour had two points in the loss.
