Interested in learning how to play chess, or in honing your chess skills?

Visit the Bradford Knights’ Chess Club at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at School Street Elementary School. Players should register at the door. Use the lower North Center Street entrance.

The club meets in the School Street Elementary cafeteria each Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. All students in grades 2 through 12 are invited to join the Scholastic Chess Program.

Many activities are scheduled, including pizza parties, matches, and tournaments for the upcoming season. The Pennsylvania State Scholastic Championships are scheduled for March 15 through 17, 2024 in Harrisburg.

On Nov. 1, the club will hold its annual quick chess championship. The season will end March 6 with a pizza party followed by awards.

In addition, the 33rd annual Bradford Businessmen’s Chess League will begin on Nov. 1 and run through March 6. Note: adults are welcome to join.
