NO CIGAR: Close, but no cigar. We’re referring to the story in Saturday’s Era about antlerless deer licenses. You probably know by now that the Monday mentioned in the story is actually June 26, not the 19th.
So one more week to go until hunters in Pennsylvania can buy their 2023-24 antlerless deer licenses wherever hunting licenses are sold. No more checks in the mail, paper applications or twice-stamped pink envelopes to find out if you are one of the lucky ones to have jumped through all the hoops in time to get a license.
The new process for obtaining antlerless licenses, made possible by a new law that took effect earlier this year, gets underway Monday, June 26 at 8 a.m., when antlerless deer licenses will be available alongside general hunting and furtaker licenses, and other licenses, permits and privileges.
Sorry about the mixup.
TODAY: There’s a lot to celebrate today, according to NationalToday.com
It’s National American Eagle Day, Ugliest Dog Day, National Hike with a Geek Day, National Ice Cream Soda Day, National Vanilla Milkshake Day, World Productivity Day and the all important National Jimmy Day.
“Jimmy is also associated with the Greek name Dimitris, as well as the earlier Demetrios or Demetrius. Many Greek immigrants in Anglophone countries name their boys Jimmy, after Jimmy the Greek, a well-known American sports pundit, and Las Vegas bookmaker. It’s also a popular name among people of Scottish or Irish origin, such as the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter.”
