KANE — The Wilds Are Calling Hazy IPA, produced by New Trail Brewing Company in collaboration with 17 other brewers who call the Pennsylvania Wilds home, is now available at participating breweries and select distributors in PA.
Participating breweries include Bradford Brew Station in Bradford, along with Bent Run Brewing Co. and Wicked Warren’s of Warren, and Boxcar Brew Works of DuBois.
The brew is a hazy IPA, made with a malt bill of pilsner and oats. It’s hopped late with Citra, Simcoe and HBC 586. This gives the brew aromatics of juicy citrus and light tropicals.
A portion of sales will support the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship’s mission to marry conservation and economic development in a way that strengthens and inspires the region’s communities.
The new brew was unveiled during a special celebration on May 18. Don Rieck, New Trail Brewing Company’s Marketing Director, shared details about the brew and the importance of water quality to craft beer production.
Ta Enos, Founder and CEO the PA Wilds Center for Entrepreneurship, spoke about the connections between breweries and outdoor recreation and how both the natural assets and the craft breweries are destinations for people looking for unique experiences.
Meredith Hill, Acting Deputy Secretary of Conservation & Technical Service at the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, spoke about the brew’s ties to the PA Wilds Conservation Landscape and the way its theme celebrates the region’s natural wonders. She noted that it is one of several brews produced by New Trail to uplift the assets of Pennsylvania, including a series made in partnership with the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation that supports public lands.
