COUDERSPORT — The Bradford girls golf team finished its 2022 season on a high note, winning the District 9 Class 3A championship Monday at Coudersport Golf Club with a team score of 305.
Cadence Stiles (96), Payten Leet (97) and Alexia Corignani (112) combined to defeat DuBois and claim the title for the Lady Owls.
“As a team, these young ladies set out to win District 9 after falling short last year,” Bradford coach Ashlee Colwell said. “They worked hard throughout the season, and it paid off. It was a cold and windy day, but they toughed it out to finish the season strong.”
In the Class 2A division, Oswayo Valley’s Rylee Thompson qualified for the PIAA tournament with a third-place finish.
Thompson and Smethport’s Olivia Schott tied at 96, requiring a playoff. Thompson recorded a par on the fourth hole to earn a trip to states, which will be held at Penn State’s Blue Couse Oct. 17-18.
