With the third round of application for antlerless deer hunting licenses just one week off, more than a third of the initial 2022-23 allocation of 948,000 remain available to hunters, according to HuntFishPA.com, the online marketplace for hunting, trapping, fishing and related licenses in Pennsylvania.
The application period opened for resident hunting license holders on July 11. Nonresidents were allowed to apply as of July 18. A second round of applications, in which a hunter could receive a second doe license, began August 1. A third round of applications opens Monday, August 15. Over-the counter sales for any license remaining available begins Monday, September 12.
As of last night, 353,309 doe licenses remained available.
They were sold out in just a few wildlife management units, primarily those known for their hunting camps in northcentral Pennsylvania – WMUs 2F, 2G, 2H, 3A, 3B – and in WMU 1B in northwestern Pennsylvania and WMU 4C, which covers parts of Dauphin, Berks and Schuylkill counties.
