Bradford Speedway will host the Ray Whitwood Memorial Sunday, featuring a 50-lap Bo Dobbie’s Auto Body Pure Stock special with $1,000 at stake and a rescheduled Hall of Fame ceremony.
The card will also fetaure the NY6 Sprints’ 2nd appearance of the season, plus the Close Racing Supply Rush Pro Mods, Finger Lakes Reality Rehabbers Mini Stocks and Integrity Fabrication and Repairs Kids Class. The Matco Tool RUSH Crate Late Models are off this week.
A previously scheduled Hall of Fame ceremony was rained out. Bradford Speedway will now welcome 16 inductees on Sunday, including Rod Biehler, Jim Strahan, Joe Schumaker, Dave Schoonover, Rich Kreamer, Rick Isadore, Mike Reed, Randy Taylor Sr, Jeff Hellwig, Joe Layfield, John Layfield, Bill Layfield, Mike Wonderling Sr, Butch Talbot, Jim Peterson and Pete Fredrick.
After last week’s firecracker special, Kurt Stebbins took over the points lead in the Late Models, leading veteran racer Ward Schell by a nine-point margin.
Steve Dixon leads the Pro Mods points race by 19 points of Rich “Critter” Hemphill. Dixon has two feature wins under his belt this season, while Hemphill still seeks his first.
Mike Parmenter’s July 3 victory gave him the Pure Stocks points lead over Cliff Easton, a 12-piont margin, while DJ Williams maintains an eight-point lead over Anthony Schoonover in the Mini Stocks. The tightest points battle to date is in the Kids Class, where Brayden Williams holds a two-point cushion over Kayden Michael.
DJ Jimmy will sponsor Sunday’s event, and the Hall of Fame ceremony will be held during intermission. Pit gates open at noon, grandstands open at 2 p.m. and the green flag drops at 5:15.
