    Fireworks, celebrations, and other activities around the region

    TODAY, JULY 2

    SALAMANCA, N.Y.: Seneca Resorts & Casino, 9:40 p.m. (rain date: Wednesday, July 6), There will not be public viewing areas established on-site, but the display will be visible from the surrounding area.

    PORT ALLEGANY: VFW/American Legion Independence Day Celebration, at Veterans Memorial Park, activities begin at 4 p.m. with live music, vendors, food, and fireworks at dark

    AUSTIN: The Austin Pride Committee is hosting the 30th annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks display. Area activities include food vendors, light up toy vendors, kettle corn, cotton candy, and a special music appearance scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the Austin Area Jr./Sr. High School.

    BENEZETTE: Kill the Grill BBQ Competition & Elk Country Cruise-In, 1 to 4 p.m. at the visitor’s center. Vendors and entertainment, as well.

    SUNDAY, JULY 3

    BRADFORD: The Salvation Army is sponsoring the annual Worship and Picnic in the Park, at Callahan Park Small Pavilion, Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., service at 11 a.m., picnic lunch to follow.

    ST. MARYS: The fun begins at 4 p.m., at St. Marys Area High School

    SWEDEN VALLEY: Fireworks begin at 9:50 p.m., at Gary’s Putter Golf & Jiffy Restaurant

    MONDAY, JULY 4

    OLEAN, N.Y.: The Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 1796 — the labor union representing the city’s firefighters, Bradner Stadium has activities scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., the band Dredneks, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow.

    MARIENVILLE: Marienville Area Civic Association (MACA) 4th of July Celebration, Swimming, raffles, vendors, food, Chinese Auction, bingo, softball, horseshoes, volleyball, parade at 4 p.m., dancing to TRIXX from 7 to 10 p.m., fireworks by Rizers after.

    EMPORIUM: Weekend in the Wilds

    Today, July 2, search for Big Foot, vendors, annual Firequacker Duck Derby, and swimming at the high school, as well as more food and music. Fireworks, by Mason Shaffer and the Cameron County Veterans Memorial Detail, begin at 6:45 p.m., at the Cameron County High School Stadium

    Sunday July 3, gates open at 9 a.m., mud race will be held at noon at the Smoker’s Insane Terrain Offroad Park located minutes from Emporium

    GALETON: 37th Annual Goodyear Hose Company’s Red Suspender Weekend and Annual 4th of July Celebration:

    Today, July 2: 8:30 a.m., 5K run and 2K walk at St. Bibiana’s Parish Center; 11 a.m., Parade sponsored by Galeton Chamber of Commerce; at noon there will be food, crafts, vendors, and rides at the John J. Collins Park; live music, all day at the pavilion; 10 p.m. Galeton’s Great Fireworks Display

    BROCKWAY: 56th annual Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration

    Today, July 2 at 7 p.m., The Cavaliers Italian-American Band at American Legion Memorial Stage at Taylor Memorial Park, hosted by The Brockway Area Historical Society

    Sunday, July 3, beginning at 2 p.m., More live music, a unicorn party, hot air balloons, at Taylor Memorial Park and the Soccer Practice Field

    Monday, July 4, Brockway 4th of July Firecracker 5k, 10K, and Fun Run, all begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by, 9:15 a.m., Ringing Of The Bells, Opening Of The Celebration, at Entrance to Taylor Memorial Museum, followed by a patriotic program at 10:30 a.m. at the American Legion Memorial Stage at Taylor Memorial Park; the rest of the day is filled with fun and games, tribute bands, food, and family. Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.
