Incumbent Martin Causer had a significant lead in the race for the Republican ballot for 67th district from Robert Rossman, but no results were available from Potter County late Tuesday night.
The 67th district is made up of McKean, Cameron and Potter counties.
In McKean County, Causer garnered 4,917 votes, while Rossman had 467.
In Cameron County, Causer received 657 votes while Rossman garnered 113.
Causer sought re-election to continue his service to the people of the 67th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Causer has served as chairman of the House Game and Fisheries Committee and the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. He currently serves as chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee, a position to which he was elected by members of the House Republican Caucus.
He is a lifelong resident of McKean County and is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science. Prior to serving in the House of Representatives, Causer served in local government as an Annin Township supervisor. He also was a 9-1-1 dispatcher in Smethport and a police officer in Port Allegany. He currently resides in Turtlepoint and has three children.
As a conservative whose leadership he says has delivered results for the people of the district, Causer’s top priorities will continue to include job creation and growing the economy, ensuring election integrity, and protecting our constitutional rights and rural values.
Small business owner, Robert Rossman challenged Causer for Republican nod on Tuesday stating leadership had let down their constituents and allowed freedoms to be taken away throughout the pandemic, as the reason for running.
Rossman, a Republican who was endorsed by Teddy Daniels, is a 1998 graduate of Coudersport High School, worked in the construction field for Glenn O. Hawbaker, operated his own trucking business, and worked in the logging industry with his family at Gaberseck Bros. He and his wife Abbi run Cream’n Sugar in Coudersport.
