JOHNSONBURG — Johnsonburg coach Mike Porter has plenty of arms at his disposal.
Pitching depth is always an asset, but on the tail end of a rain-soaked spring, its importance is amplified even more. A day after Collin Porter shut down Port Allegany, Aiden Zimmerman and Dom Allegretto combined to blank Brockway, as the Rams defeated the Rovers, 8-0, Friday at Sandy Beach Field in Ridgway.
Zimmerman allowed four hits in five strong innings before giving way to Allegretto, who allowed just one baserunner — a walk — to put the Rovers away. The pair combined for 11 strikeouts whiele Allegretto also led the Rams at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Kaden Dennis had three hits and an RBI for the Rams, while Camron Marciniak had a hit and scored a run.

Kane 4, Elk County Catholic 1KANE — Kane’s big hitters got the job done against Elk County Catholic, including Andy Jekielek, who homered in the Wolves’ Friday victory.
Jekielek went 2-for-3 with two RBI, singling home a run in the 1st inning before starting the 4th with a solo homer. Shane Ackley added two hits and a run scored, while Curt Barner drove in two runs.
Harley Morris nearly went the distance on the mound for Kane, amassing five strikeouts before hitting his pitch limit. Brock Wensel came on to record the final two outs for the Wolves.

Oswayo Valley 8, Galeton 0SHINGLEHOUSE — Nik Bonney threw six strong innings, striking out eight and allowing one hit along the way, to lead Oswayo Valley over Galeton.
Cayden Black’s three-run, inside-the-park home run broke it open for OV in the 4th, extending the lead from four runs to seven. Brayden Wiley was 2-for-3 with an RBI for OV.

Mackenzie Mesler led the Lady Green Wave at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored. Laya Phillips added three hits and four RBI, while Shayna Mesler and Mackenzie George each drove in three runs.
OV’s offense hummed to the tune of 19 total hits. Mackenzie Mesler dominated in the pitcher’s circle, striking out eight while allowing three hits and no walks.
