St. Marys man jailed for alleged decade- old assault

SMETHPORT — A St. Marys man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly sexually assaulting a child a decade ago in Liberty Township.

Dominic E. Prescott, 25, of 236 South Michael St. Apt 1, is charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, a first-degree felony; aggravated indecent assault of a child without consent and when the victim is less than 13, both second-degree felonies; indecent assault of a person less than 13, a third-degree felony; two counts of indecent assault of a victim less than 13, both first-degree misdemeanors; and two counts of indecent assault without consent, second-degree misdemeanors.

According to the criminal complaint, the female victim is now 16, but would have been 5 or 6 when the alleged incidents took place, while Prescott would have been 15 or 16. The victim made a complaint that she had been sexually assaulted by Prescott when she was a child. She gave police details of the assaults, the complaint stated.

Prescott was arraigned before District Judge Bill Todd Wednesday and was remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for April 4.
