PORT ALLEGANY — The annual Wine Walk will be held Saturday, April 9 with several start times.
Registration will begin at the Port Allegany Moose Family Center Lodge located on Pearl Street. Start times are at 3:30, 4, 4:30 and 5 p.m. The featured wineries and their hosts include — The Winery at Wilcox at Port Notary; Brokenstraw Winery at the Midtown Motel; Bear Creek Winery at A Stitch in Time; Little Mountain Winery at GLC Group; Laurel Mountain Winery at Trail’s End; Uncle D’s Winery at The Neighborhood School of Dance; Vern DeLong’s Smoothies and Triple Nickel Distillery at Burleson True Value Tent located in the Town Square; and Allegheny Cellars Winery at Baxter’s Hardware.
This year’s goal is to raise $5,000 for the S. W. Smith Memorial Public Library.
The first year of the Walk, the event raised $4,000 for the Star Hose Fire Co. #1. The second event raised $2,200 for the Port Allegany Community Pool even though, due to COVID, the actual Wine Walk did not take place. Through donations and sponsorships, a good amount was still raised for the pool. Last year’s event raised $5,500 for PAAS.
Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at Olson-Tenglund NAPA Auto Parts.
