ELDRED — The Otto-Eldred and Black Forest trap teams each earned season-opening victories Tuesday, kicking off the Southern Tier Scholastic Youth Trap League season.
The O-E Bird Dawgs defeated Oswayo Valley, 173-125, behind Austin Unverdorben’s near-perfect score of 24. Nick Brown added 23, while Gracie DeLong and Gavin Silvis each scored 22, Holden Lapp and Kaden Price each scored 21, and Wyatt Farr and Gavin Pearce each earned 20.
Dana Williams led the OV Clay Crashers with 19 points. Owen Ruolo added 18, Khloe Carpenter and Zain Harvey each scored 17, Conner Howard earned 16, Karielle Johnston scored 14, and Aidan Resig and Caiden Goode each earned 12.
O-E will host Bradford on Tuesday.
The Black Forest Falcons defeated Smethport, 167-163, behind 24 points from John Wylie IV.
Three shooters added 21 points each for the Falcons, including Tyler Boyd, Blayk Risser and Macey Crowell. Garrett Fuhrer, Ben Torrey, Matthew Fleniken and Sophia Snowman each added 20 for Black Forest.
Brayden Cosper led Smethport with 23 points, while William Myers, Bryan Young and Katelyn Dunn each tacked on 21. Konnor Miller scored 20, while Cole Szuba, Ben Harris and Cole Walker each added 19.
