HS Hoops: Jburg boys beat Coudy; ECC boys, girls sweep Kane

COUDERSPORT — Jake Lobaugh led all scorers with 18 points as the Johnsonburg boys basketball team beat Coudersport in a physical non-league matchup, 53-44, Monday at Coudersport.

Jefferson Freeburg added nine points for the Rams, while Isaiah Jackson tacked on eight points.

Christian Furman and Garrett Kellert each scored 13 points to lead Coudy’s offense. Furman also swiped four steals and pulled down four rebounds, while Kellert secured eight rebounds of his own.

Logan Ruter had eight points and eight rebounds for the Falcons.

KANE — Charlie Breindel scored a game-high 16 points, leading Elk County Catholic over Kane.

Jordan Wasko added 13 points for ECC, while Luke Jansen recorded 12 points, rounding out a productive night for the Crusader backcourt.

Andy Jekielek paced Kane with eight points.

ST. MARYS — An explosive third quarter helped power Elk County Catholic’s victory over Kane, as the Lady Crusaders scored over half of their 40 points in a third stanza that saw three 3-pointers from Lucy Klawuhn.

Syd Alexander scored a game-high 11 points for ECC, while Klawuhn added nine points and Sami Straub and Emily Maurer each recorded eight.

Cora Jekielek led Kane with eight points.
