COUDERSPORT — Led by five pins, the Port Allegany wrestling team rolled over Coudersport on Wednesday, 51-18, to remain perfect in the Allegheny Mountain league.
Victories by fall from Chase Weimer (126 pounds), Alden Furgeson (132), Peyton Stiles (138), Juuso Young (189) and Miska Young (215) helped power the Gators.
The dual meet marked the return of Juuso Young to Port’s lineup, an addition that coach Bradley Greenman had looked forward to seeing. Though just one of the meet’s matches went the distance, it included several competitive bouts.
“There were a couple really good matches that may have ended in a fall, but were back-and-forth beforehand,” Greenman said.
In the only match of the night that lasted six minutes, Caleb Furgeson scored an 8-2 decision over Coudy’s John Wright at 160 pounds. Coudy added two pins of its own, from Owen Deutschlander (145) and James Culvey (152).
Port improved to 2-0 in the league, while Coudy fell to 1-2. The Falcons will travel to Johnsonburg Tuesday, while Port Allegany will host Redbank Valley Tuesday.
