BROOKVILLE — Brookville’s shooting led it to a win over Bradford.
Alayna Haight scored a game high 17 points to lead Brookville. She hit four 3-pointers on the night to help space the floor and balance the Brookville offense. That space allowed Jordan Cook to do damage down low. She had 12 points for the Lady Raiders and scored 10 points in the second half, when Brookville closed the door.
Alanna Benson led Bradford with 11 points. She had five points in the third quarter when the Lady Owls made a push.
Bradford did a good job making their free throws, taking advantage of their trips to the line. But a shortened roster meant only four players scored, which hurt the team’s bottom line.
“Short handed due to Covid,” said Bradford head coach Tony Richards. “We had our chances though. It was close the entire way, we were in striking distance until about six minutes to go. Lead was under 10 (points). Proud of my kids. The effort was there, at times the ball didn’t fall for us.”

PORT ALLEGANY — Port Allegany’s big second half propelled it to a non-conference win over Johnsonburg.
Kaleigha Dowell and Ella Moses led Port with a combined 33 points. Dowell was unstoppable from long-range, hitting five 3-pointers on the way to 17 points. Moses did her damage closer to the net, scoring 16 points and earning a double-double with 10 rebounds, as well as four steals. Evin Stauffer had five boards, four points, five assists and four steals to contribute on offense and defense.
Kaci Stelene was excellent for Jburg scoring a team-high 16 points. She had 10 in the first half as Jburg built an early lead.
“Honestly, we just made shots,” said Port head coach Jamie Evens. “It was a sloppy game both ways. Both teams had over 20 turnovers… Proud of our girls pulling it out. We are learning how to win the close ones and overcome mistakes… Nice to get some redemption from our loss to them (Jburg) earlier in the year.”

DUBOIS — Kayley Risser’s big night powered DuBois Catholic past Kane in a shoot-out.
Risser was an offense unto herself, scoring 30 points, including 13 in the third quarter when DCC took the lead. Jessy Frank scored 11 points with a 3-pointer for DCC.
Kane was led by Maya Smith and Cara Jekielek, who scored 12 and 11 points, respectively. Both teams went to the free throw line often, with DCC making one more attempt despite seven more visits.

ST. MARYS — Elk County Catholic’s big third quarter allowed the Crusaders to take the lead, and win, over rival St. Marys.
Luke Jansen scored a game high 19 points to lead ECC. Jansen hit two 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Crusaders built an 11-point lead. He was helped by Jordan Wasko, who scored 13 points, including six points in a big fourth quarter for ECC’s offense.
St. Marys was led by Tanner Fox who scored eight points.

RIDGWAY — Ridgway took a 10-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
The Elkers were led by Dan Park and Dominic Allegretto, who both scored in double digits. Park had 16 points while Allegretto had 10. They combined for 11 in the first quarter with Allegretto scoring big in the third quarter and Park in the fourth quarter.
Johnsonburg was led by Jake Lobaugh and Jefferson Freeburg. The pair had six points each, with Lobaugh hitting a 3-pointer in the first quarter.
