KANE — The Kane Area Revitalization Enterprise (KARE), a nonprofit organization in Kane focused on the revitalization of Kane’s central business district and residential neighborhoods, has made a lot of progress over the past few years.
The group has successfully acquired and demolished blighted and dangerous buildings, implemented façade improvement programs and officially opened an amphitheater in the heart of uptown Kane for concerts, plays and other community events.
Now, the group continues its focus on beautifying Kane’s gateways, and they’re raising money to help make it all possible.
On Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30, the three banks located in Kane, CNB Bank, Hamlin Bank and Northwest Bank, are teaming up to raise money for the cause.
Guest bartenders from each bank will serve beer, wine and bank-themed specialty drinks at CJ Spirits, 120 Willow Run Road, on Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 5 until 8 p.m. The bank that raises the most money in tips wins—and all of the tips raised will be donated to KARE.
The event is free to attend and, in addition to food, there will be live, local music by Brianna Blankenship.
“We appreciate the support we’re receiving from our local banks, CJ Spirits and Blankenship during our fourth Battle of the Banks. We encourage everyone to stop by CJs on Nov. 30 to support KARE’s efforts — and to vote for your favorite bankers,” said Tim Robinson, president of the KARE Board of Directors.
