DUKE CENTER — Each set couldn’t have been played much closer.
Thursday proved to be Galeton’s night, however, as the Lady Tigers prevailed in straight sets over Otto-Eldred (25-23, 25-23, 25-22).
Olivia Rohrbaugh led the way with 20 digs, nine kills, four aces, two blocks and two assists. Alli Macensky tacked on nine digs, nine kills, two aces and three blocks for the Lady Tigers, while Joanna Dickerson had 11 digs, three kills, three aces and 10 assists.
Galeton’s Mikayla Schott recorded nine digs, two kills, an ace and an assist while Lauren Sauley tallied 18 digs, two kills, nine assists and an ace.
O-E was paced by Brianna Silvis’ 10 kills, 11 digs, four aces and two blocks. Kaylee Rhinehart had three kills, three digs, seven service points and an ace for the Lady Terrors, while Anna Merry passed out 22 assists to go with 11 digs and an ace, and Katie Sheeler racked up four kills, 10 digs, three aces and an assist.
Smethport 3, Cameron County 2
SMETHPORT — It took a back-and-forth, five-set affair, but Smethport ran away with the decisive set to beat Cameron County (28-30, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 15-6) and earn its first league win of the season.
Kaylee Swanson recorded 17 digs, 15 kills, two blocks, two service points and an assist for the Lady Hubbers. Madi Faes added 20 digs, 20 assists, five kills, four blocks, three set points and two aces, while Baylee Fitzsimmons racked up 47 digs to go with six aces, four points, four assists and a kill.
Elizabeth Hungiville had seven aces, nine points, six kills and six blocks for Smethport, while Coryn McClain’s 16 points added to her eight aces, six digs and eight kills.
Mikenna Farabaugh passed out 24 assists to go with nine points for CC, while Aubree Lorenzo had eight points and 11 kills and Caitlyn Palumbo recorded 11 points and seven kills.
Oswayo Valley 3, Coudersport 0
COUDERSPORT — Avaree Kellert stuffed the stat sheet with 18 kills, eight digs, five blocks, four service points, an assist and an ace, pacing Oswayo Valley in its straight-set win over Coudersport (25-12, 25-17, 25-13).
Jadyn Brabham tacked on 14 kills, 13 digs, five points and two assists while Praylan Perkins tallied up six kills, nine digs, six points and two blocks. Trinity Lundy would add seven digs, 13 points, 36 assists and an ace, and Jenna Freer tacked on three aces, four kills, six digs, nine points and three assists.
Coudy was led by Savannah Meyers’ six kills and 11 digs. Ava Wahlers added nine kills, a block and eight digs, while Liz Frame recorded 11 assists, eight digs and a kill.
Northern Potter 3, Port Allegany 1
PORT ALLEGANY — Justine David stuffed the stat sheet for Northern Potter, recording 10 digs, 13 assists, five kills, 11 service points and three aces in NoPo’s four-set win over Port Allegany (25-23, 25-23, 15-25, 25-21).
Rebecca Martin had five kills and five blocks for NoPo while Abbie Cady added four kills and four blocks. Madison Hoopes tacked on 12 digs and two kills, while Megan Hyde recorded eight digs, five kills and 12 points.
Port Allegany was led by Leigha Nelson’s 22 assists, 23 points and four aces. Amber Funk recorded 26 digs, and Ella Moses had 15 assists, eight kills, 16 points and two aces to go with Madeline Smith’s 19 kills, 13 points, 21 digs and two aces.
Elk County Catholic 3, DuBois Central Catholic 0
ST. MARYS — Moira Stanisch passed out 12 assists, helping Elk County Catholic to a straight-set win over DuBois Central Catholic (25-14, 25-8, 25-13).
Tori Newton recorded seven kills while Madison Marzullo added five kills for the Lady Crusaders.
